Islamic scholar donates 40-foot container load of Holy Quran

The administration of the Yaya Keita Arabic and English Junior and Senior High School has officially presented a 40-foot container of the Holy Koran valued at over 350,000 United States Dollars to the National Muslims Council of Liberia.

The proprietor of the school, Yaya Keita, said the Holy Koran will be distributed to Muslims especially, to those who cannot afford to purchase one.

 Mr. Keita disclosed that Conservation of the Holy Koran Society based in Amman, Jordan and the Mohamed Sekou of Perere for the Progress of Humanity in Guinea financed the shipment of the container of Holy Korans to Liberia.

He explained that his institution will work with the National Muslims Council of Liberia purposely to ensure that the Holy Koran reaches Muslims and Islamic institutions throughout the country.

He thanked partners in Guinea, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, for making the donation possible.

Receiving the container, the Chairman of the National Muslim Council of Liberia, Abdulah Massarey, thanked Mr. Keita and his partners for the donation to Muslims here.

Sheik Massarey assured Mr. Keita that the Holy Korans will be distributed to benefit Muslims and Islamic institutions in the country.

According to him, this is best gift anyone can give a Muslim at the moment as the Holy Month of Ramadan draws near.

The presentation ceremony, which was held in Johnsonville Township, was witnessed by the Grand Motif of Liberia, Sheik Abubakar Sumaworo, a legislative aspirant in District Two, Montserrado County, Musa Sheriff, the National Chairman of the All-Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP) Ansu Dorley, and Guinea’s Ambassador to Liberia, Abubakar Sylla. among others.

The printing and transportation of the container was sponsored by the Conservation of the Holy Koran Society based in Amman, Jordan in collaboration with Mohamed Sekou Institute based in Conakry, Guinea. Editing by Jonathan Browne
