Renowned Nigerian musical engineer and artist J Martin, has welcomed any collaboration with his Liberian counterparts. J Martin, who staged a beach show in Monrovia over the week, said he sees many potential talents in Liberian artists, which when properly managed could become hits in Africa and the world at large.
He challenged Liberian musicians to believe in themselves as they explore their musical career, stressing, Liberian artists should focus on giving out messages in their music.
According to him, Africans are one people with comparable culture with Liberia being no exception. The Nigerian music icon noted that to start the collaboration with Liberian musical stars, he would team up Liberia’s HIPCO star Tarkun J to produce a new effort shortly.
Speaking at a Lonestar Cell MTN- sponsored Beach Jam Sunday, J Martin said arrangement for him and Tarkun J to do a track is being discussed. Tarkun J has been branded as the face of Lonestar Cell MTN following a partnership contract signed with the GSM Company to perform at all of its programs.
J Martin told the jam-packed Bernard’s Beach Jam that since his arrival here the name Tarkun J has rung in his ears, adding, “Very soon you will hear a music of me and Tarkun J; you hear me? Tarkun is going with me to Nigeria.”
Tarkun J welcomes the idea and looks forward to his Nigerian counterpart for such collaboration that could help promote the Liberian talent across the subregion and perhaps beyond Africa.
