Jacob Town murder suspect recuperates in hospital

Barely four days after murdering his girlfriend Miss Princess Boe at their Peace Island Community in Jacob Town, Paynesville City suburbs of Monrovia, suspect Lassana Kenneth is said to be recuperating at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC) where he is currently hospitalized in handcuff, for wound he allegedly sustained from the incident.

J.F. K. Hospital Public Relations Officer Armara Kamara made the disclosure to The New Dawn newspaper on Tuesday, 10 April. Kamara explains that suspect Kenneth is receiving comprehensive intensive care from medical doctors and nurses at the hospital. He also discloses that suspect Kenneth, who was initially admitted in the hospital’s Trauma Ward has been transferred to the Emergency Room (ER) where doctors are doing everything they can to ensure that he recuperates.

Kamara, who could neither confirm nor deny that the suspect is now talking as compared to the day when he was taken to the hospital by the Liberia National Police (LNP), says he was informed by medical doctors that suspect Kenneth is responding to medical treatment.

He declines to provide any further information regarding the degree of injury that the suspect sustained last Saturday in their bedroom in Peace Islands community, when he was found lying in bed unconscious with his penis slashed, while his fiancée, the late Princess Boe was lying dead by his side in a pool of blood.

However, he expresses optimism that suspect Kenneth would recover soon, adding that this is the wish of the hospital which duty is to provide the kind of medical treatment that would ensure the recovery of all patients admitted, including suspect Lassana Kenneth.

Suspect Lassana Kenneth during the night of Saturday, 7 April reportedly stabbed his girlfriend Princess Boe to death at their Jacob Town residence. The deceased’s uncle, James Sokoyah, earlier told this paper that Kenneth stabbed the late Princess in her chest and shoulder and subsequently slashed piece of flesh from his private parts to insinuate that it was the deceased that did it.

The Princess Boe, who hails from Nimba County, was a petty trader, selling banana in the community, while suspect Kenneth is from the Mandingo ethnic tribe.
When Deputy Police Commissioner for Public Affairs H. Moses Carter’s office was contacted on Tuesday, April 10, this paper was informed that the LNP Homicide Division is conducting investigation into the matter.
