Journalist Itricia Ploh Ceimon takes final journey

The remains of female broadcast journalist ItrciaPlohCeimon were finally laid to rest recently near her late father and mother’s graves at the Asceation Town Cemetery in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

It was a painful and sad moment for friends, relatives, musicians, actors and actresses, uniformed officers, professionals, and former workmates of the deceased who worked with Truth FM 96.1 in Liberia prior to her death.

Funeral rites for the fallen journalist were held at the Jarwlee Lewis Memorial Church on Adelaide Street, Freetown, where people converged in their hundreds to mourn and pay respect to the strong, radical African broadcaster, who also worked in Freetown prior to extending his journalistic career to Liberia.
In various tributes paid in tears, friends, workmates, organizations and movements described the late Itricia P. Ceimon as very hard working and promising young woman, whose elegant style of broadcasting thrilled her audience whenever she appeared on the radio or television.

Her style of production and broadcasting was so unique and could be compared to a British broadcaster. She was a journalist who thought beyond the scene of a news event and was also very friendly.

Funeral procession was held through the principal streets of Freetown to the Asceation Town Cemetery where her remains were laid to rest. The death of ItricePlohCeimon has been described as a blow to her family and friends, including professional colleagues both in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Queeneth Bangs, a sister of the deceased said the death of Itricia came as shock, because she had just spoken with Itricia, assuring her that she will be in Freetown this December 2016 for vacation and looks forward to seeing her, then suddenly the shocking news came that her sister has died.

The late ItricePlohCeimon is survived by four siblings, Welleh Bernice Doe, IriaCeimon, and two brothers, Isaac and AdolphusCeimon, among host of other relatives and loved ones.
