JPC & Caritas conclude SDGs workshop in Bong

The Justice and Peace Commission (JPC) and Caritas Gbarnga have concluded a day – long training workshop with civil society organizations and Community – based organizations including the media in localizing the sustainable development goals.The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.

They address global challenges, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice. The workshop brought together more than 15 participants.
Giving an overview of the workshop, JPC Regional Coordinator for Bong, Lofa and Nimba, Jesse Cole stated that the purpose of the training is around the role of CSOs
and CBOs in localizing the SDGs.

According to Mr. Cole, CSOs and CBOs have been working over the past to ensure they meet the target of the SDGs Agenda for 2030.For his part, Caritas Gbarnga Director Anthony Benedict Roberts called on CSOs and CBOs institutions to constructively engage national government in achieving the
SDGs.
