Kenya VP meets Pres. Sirleaf

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Wednesday received Kenyan Deputy President – William Ruto and held bilateral talks on issues of mutual interest between Liberia and Kenya.

Vice President Ruto arrived in Liberia on late Tuesday evening via Robert International Airport (RIA) and was met on arrival by Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, and a host.
Deputy President Ruto said his visit to Liberia is centered on three key areas that they want strengthen, including the bilateral relationship with Liberia itself, the issue of strengthening Liberia’s educational system and as to how Kenya could be of help to Liberia in terms of education, trade between Kenya and Liberia for Kenyan Company to work with Liberia, leadership of the continent, concerning the issue of building bridges in terms of connecting the entire continent.

An Executive Mansion release said, Deputy President Ruto made the statement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when he addressed journalists following a brief meeting with President Sirleaf at her Foreign Ministry Office in Monrovia.

Deputy President Ruto commended President Sirleaf and her government and the people of Liberia for according him and his delegationto a warm reception during their arrival in Liberia, reflecting on how long Kenya and Liberia have come along in their diplomatic relationship. He said this strive is Agenda 53 of the African Union, aimed at promoting trade and commerce in its Member States.-Press release
