The Office of the Commissioner of King Peter Township, Montserrado County terms as dangerous, ridiculous, and calculated lies assertions in the public that the township is being run on tribal lines.
King’s Peter Township is being administered by Commissioner Beatrice Williams.
Addressing reporters in the township on Monday, 3 February the Special Assistant to Commissioner Williams, Frank D. Shannon notes the Commissioner was appointed by President George Manneh Weah based on recommendations from the people of the township, and her hard work and dedication to unifying tribes of the area.
According to him, those making reckless statement on local radio stations against Commissioner Williams are individuals, who undermined the former township commissioner David Jacobs, a development-oriented leader.
Mr. Shannon challenges those making such claims against his boss to visit the office of the township where they will meet Liberians from different backgrounds working in various positions and capacities, contrary to their calculated lies.
He says Commissioner Williams is determined to ensure that all government regulations intended to bring development to the township are fully implemented without fear or favor.
He continues that the commissioner will never allow her administration to be tainted by tribal politics, noting that she remains focus on the Government’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Development and Prosperity.Shannon calls on detractors to join the development drive of the township and stop wasting their time on things that will not benefit them.
He notes that since the demolition of the commissioner office, some individuals of the township have been using the property as their restroom which the township highly prohibits, warning them to desist from such acts or they would face the full weight of the law.
He says the office of Commissioner Williams is open to all residents of the township, who have anything against the commissioner to come forward so that they can be resolved rather than using the airwaves to make regardless statements that could undermine their own existence.
