A fire incident in the Borough of New Town on Bushrod Island has left two men dead and one serious inured.
According to the nephew of the decreased, Mr. Richard Flomo, the incident occurred early Sunday morning at about 1am. According to Mr. Flomo, while asleep he heard people screaming for help as a result of the fire, noting that waking up it was a tailor shop gutted by fire.
He said there were three men in the shop – Alphonse Wowo and Joseph Forkpah both of whom died and a another with disability only identify as Topah who got seriously injured. The Topeah was rush to the John F. Kennedy Medical Hospital by Monyserrado County Representative Hon. Edward S. Ford, who also arrived at the scene.
According to eye-witness Flomo, the cause of the fire was unknown. He said the shop was his only means of survival, calling on the government to come to his aide. – By Bridgett Milton – Edited by George Barpeen
