Labour vows to enforce Decent Work Act

The Minister of LabourNeto Z. Lighe has vowed to enforce the decent work act passed into law in 2015. Speaking Wednesday, 27 January at the Labour Ministry when members of the Yana Boys Association of Liberia honored him as ‘best minister of 2015’ for his services to the Liberian people, Minister Lighe said, the Ministry will begin enforcing the New Labour act of Liberia, beginning March 1, 2016.

He called on local and foreign companies in Liberia to implement the new law, and commended the association for the recognition. He said the ministry is faced with enormous difficulties, but efforts are being exerted along with partners in overcoming those challenges.

The Yana Boys Association of Liberia has also honored the Director General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation or NASSCORP, Dewitt Von Bollmoos along with the Director General of the General Services Agency, Madam Mary T. Broh, for their dedicated services to the state.

The president of the association, Prince Kollie, said the recognition was aimed at honoring public officials who deserve honor and to thank them for their contribution to the forward march of the country.
