LACC Strikes LBF

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has expressed grave concern about the misapplication of entrusted funds by some officials of the Liberia Basketball Federation (LBF).

The LACC, in a press release issued in Monrovia on November 15, 2010, said they wanted the LBF to know that such alleged misappropriation of public funds and other resources with impunity should not be allowed to go unpunished.

According to the release, the funds in question (US$36,000) was meant to pay hotel accommodation and take care of food for several visiting foreign players during a tournament hosted by LBF.

As a result, the LACC noted that not only the foreign teams were embarrassed, but the LBF also disgraced the image of the country.
