LBA, Premier Service In War of Words

The President of the Liberia Basketball Association, T. Rufus Anderson, has warned the President of Premier Service and former Information Minister Lawrence Bropleh to retract his statement that “he, Anderson was arrested and detained last week.

Anderson, on Tuesday, told reporters at the Basketball conference that “if Bropleh does not retract his statement, or face legal action, he would institute legal action against him.”

According to Anderson, Bropleh misinformed the Liberian public about the rate issued him by the Monrovia Criminal court. “At no time I was held in prison last week as reported; I got a rate from the court and attended the concern of the rate, but returned to normal work after a Bill was filed and accepted,” Anderson noted.

Premier Service recently filed a law suit against its client, the Liberia Basketball Association for criminal mischief. In response to the proclamation from Anderson, Bropleh said, Premier Service had nothing negative against the Basketball Association, but wanted transparency and accountability in their relationship.

Meanwhile, 14 games in the 3rd division category of the ongoing national basketball league have so far  been played at two of the four venues across Monrovia.

The plantation boys exposed B0-Rangers FC 4-0 to capture the Knocked out trophy over the weekend, with Varney Sando scoring all four. They also thrashed Matamboler FC by a solo goal to prevail as Champions of the 3rd division league.

Meanwhile, the President of the club, Amos Kanadakai is cautioning teams in the upcoming LFA playoffs to gaze out for the Sime Darby boys as they are giving no room for returning to the 3rd division next season.

He also congratulated the plantation company (Sime Darby) for the support in keeping the boys motivated  throughout the just-ended national league and Knock-out.
