LCC holds 32nd GA

The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) has announced that it will hold its 32nd General Assembly (GA) at the St. Stephen Episcopal Church on 10th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia.

An LCC press release issued Wednesday, 14 November says the 2018 General Assembly will run from Wednesday to Saturday, 28 November to 1 December.

The press release says the General Assembly will bring together all LCC member churches and Executive Committee members from across Liberia.

It is also expected that partners and guests of the Council from other parts of the world including [All African Council of Churches] AACC, [World Council Churches] WCC, United States of America, Germany, Switzerland and Sierra Leone among several others will be in full attendance.

The press release notes that the 32nd General Assembly will run under the theme: Consolidating National Reconciliation and Unity: Imperative for Sustainable Growth and Development with Texts drawn from II Corinthians 5:18 to 20 and Genesis 1:1 to 2 and 4.

It can be recalled, the LCC which is the conscience of the Liberian society was always in the vanguard of promoting peace during the Liberian civil crisis which Liberia enjoys today.This year’s General Assembly will lift up several topics and issues relating to the growth and development of the Church in Liberia and the Liberian society at large.

The president of the National Council of Churches Rev. Jim Winkler will serve as the keynote speaker of the formal opening of the General Assembly.The LCC says it seeks the presence of the entire Liberian populace to join it in the 32nd General Assembly.–Press release
