LDEA arrests man, 56 with 15kgs marijuana

The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Bong County Detachment has arrested a 56-year-old man Jerald George with 15 kilograms of marijuana in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The LDEA says the street value of the drugs is placed at little over 1,500,000 Liberian Dollars.

Speaking to Journalists following the arrest of suspect George in Gbarnga, the LDEA Bong County Detachment Commander Alex Toweh narrated that the arrest of the alleged drugs trafficker was made at the Phebe Parking in Gbarnga.

Alex Toweh says suspect George was arrested through the efforts of his Chief of Operations and other agents of LDEA.

According to report, the suspect will be investigated in 48 hours and subsequently forwarded to court for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the LDEA official is appealing to citizens of Bong County to provide information in order to have a drugs free society.

According to a reliable source, suspect George who is a resident of the Phebe Parking area in Gbarnga has been engaged with the sale of drugs for several years in the County.

The alleged drug dealer refused to speak to the press, on grounds that he did not want to be in the news.–Edited by Winston W. Parley
