LFA Establishes Board

The Liberia Football Association or LFA has established premier league board in accordance with the international standard in the development of football.

 

The board will report to the executive committee by oversee all activities of the league as it is done in Ghana, Nigeria and other African countries. The 20-teams will have 3 representatives on the board.

LFA boss Musa Bility said the broad will run the league for the next one year and report o the executive committee. “We are working in this direction by giving responsibility to power for the good of the game.”

With this, all clubs in the local league here were provided a new mailing system at the FA. Bility said the mailing for clubs was a major challenge as it would be easy and fast to reach any club.

Watanga FC Dedicates HQ

The Watanga Football Club has dedicated it own headquarters in an effort of meeting some of FIFA requirements before 2012.  It is in this vein that the premier club opens its offices in Monrovia.

Mr. Dee-Maxell S. Kemayah, Sr., informed this paper that since becoming the Head of the club nearly year now they promised their fans of meeting FIFA requirements by having their own offices.

According to some of the requirements of FIFA, club participating in the league must have it own office, playing pitch, bank account among others. This, FIFA believe will help in the promotion of the game.

The opening ceremony of Watanga FC’s office was attended by many officials football including Nimba FC President, Melvin Sobandi who told reporters how they were hard to secure an office space Nimba County.

Astra Ploiesti FC Slips Out

Romanian side, Astra Ploiesti FC of Liberian international Ben Teekloh has failed to secure a European champion league slot for next season. The club slipped last Saturday during their league match when they sustained a home defeat against stranger Universitatea Cluj FC.

Astral Ploiesti FC has 38 points from 30 matches. They are 12 from the Europa Cup and 17 Champion league slots.  Astral Ploiesti win would have lifted them 8th place on the table with 41 points as ahead of CFR Cluj FC with the same points but less goals.

The club now has 4 games left but need 15 points to be among the first four teams at the end of the season. “We now focusing on winning the balance games to earn a TV right and bigger sponsorship having been safe from relegation”, Ben Teekloh told this paper last night.
