Liberia Gets Juvenile Team

The Liberia Athletic Federation on Saturday, recruited potential juveniles into the new Lone Star Juvenile team for the upcoming tournament in Ivory Coast, Singapore and the London 2012 Olympic.

The selection was made at the SKD stadium in Paynesville by heads of the Federation, Mulbah Zaza, Christopher Sayeh and coach Bill Sheriff. The candidates had to undergo a trial, after which, the best ones were selected to part of the team.

Most of the candidates failed to reach the targeted destination. They were schedule to throw the juvenile 83.5m from the start line to obtain an automatic slot for the tournament.

The distance was later reduced to 45meters, which, many of the contestants easily reached. The federation gave each athletic $500LD as compensation fees for participating in the tryout session.

Emmanuel Tarpeh Remains Certain

LISCR FC central back Emmanuel Tarpeh is confident of his club walking away with one phase premiership although they bowed to FC-AK 0-1 on Saturday at the D-Tweh pitch.  According to the players; “we have lot of great signing this season and it is profiting us in games result.

LISCR has landed James koko Lomell who has just secured a move to Asia last week. The defender is experiencing his second season in the Liberian premiership after spending half season in the first division.

He has played the entire club matches this season. During their nil-nil draw with BYC he had a wonderful performance. Tarpeh commonly known as Carnaviro moved to LISCR from 1st division side Young Pro FC where he emerged as the best defender in 2008 division one league.

Tarpeh played two seasons with Metro Star, one in the 3rd division, after which they qualified for the second division. The acquired out of country, puts Tarpeh ahead of other defenders he met at LISCR.
