Liberia: Man probed for allegedly sodomizing and cutting victim’s tongue

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested and is investigating suspect Darius P. Siryon, 25, a resident of the Outland Community, Police Academy, for allegedly sodomizing and cutting off the tongue of a 17 – year – old boy he had allegedly kidnapped.

The accused allegedly drugged the victim and carried out the act.

On Saturday, 5 February 2022 at 4:30 PM, police say complainant Angeline Peabody, 37, of the Outland Community in Police Academy reported meeting her son – the victim – lying unconscious in a pool of blood by 2:00 AM.

She told police that she had discovered her son after she was informed by the community Chairman and neighbor only identified as Roosevelt over the alleged incident.

Police said during their preliminary probe, suspect Siryon told investigators that on Friday, 4 February 2022 at 1:00 AM, he was attacked by three unknown persons while on his way from a wake keeping.

He furthered that they succeeded in taking away his Tecno Pop 5 phone valued at USD120 and his wallet that contained his Liberian citizen ID Card plus Four Hundred and Twenty Liberian Dollars (LRD420).

Suspect Darus Siryon continued that two of the attackers escaped, while they left him in a fist fight with the victim.

He claimed that the victim attempted to bite him, and in the process, the victim’s tongue mistakenly entered his (Siryon) mouth and he (Siryon) bit it off.

Meanwhile, police said the victim was rushed to the John F. Kennedy Hospital in Sinkor for medical treatment by his mother.
