Liberia, Mauritius for Group J. Slot
Liberia will clash with Mauritius to contest the only slot to join Group-J in the qualifying rounds of the 2014 World Cup. Other members of Group J are Senegal, Uganda and Angola.
The Lone Star will travel to Mauritius for the first leg of the preliminary fixture between Nov-11-15-2011, followed by the return leg in Monrovia at the SKD Sports Stadium.
The last time Liberia met the Indian Ocean nation was during the 2002 Mali Nations Cup qualifiers when they were defeated in Mauritius. In the return leg, Liberia whipped Mauritius 3-0 at the famous SKD sports stadium in Paynesville.
The Lone Star’s success may greatly depend on a team made up of fast-moving goal-punching and experienced players, and not the usual sentiments and guesses which characterizes the selection process.
The Lone Star is expected to honor three qualifiers during the rest of this year. The team will travel to Zimbabwe next month for the second leg match against Zimbabwe in Harare, and also host Mali in Monrovia month later in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying rounds..
