Liberia vs. Ghana Today

Following a 2-2 dramatic draw with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Sunday night, Liberia’s National Soccer Team the Lone Star will today Tuesday September 11, 2012 knock horns with Ghana’s Black Star at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville in a friendly dubbed Presidential Friendship Cup 2012.

The match is being sponsored by Lonestar Cell MTN, Liberia’s leader in converged telecommunications. The Liberia –Ghana match comes after the senior national team put up a thrilling performance against the Supper Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday in the AFCON 2013 final qualifier.

Today’s game is expected to see the Black Star parade  local and international based players to test the strength of the ever improving Lone Star squad days after it held Nigeria to a 2-2 draw. Both teams are will use this game as preparation for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) ’s final qualifier, which is scheduled to take place in South Africa next year.
