A Liberian female Journalist and staff of the NEW DAWN is commending the Government of the People’s Republic of China, for the opportunity afforded her to have attended the 8th China-Africa Youth Festival.

Monrovia, Liberia, June 4, 2024 – After her return from the just-ended 8th China-Africa Youth Festival, Liberian Journalist Bridgett Milton of the NEW DAWN Newspaper applauds the Government of China for allowing her to be part of the festival, which allows African youths to network and explore their innovative skills.

Milton, who was the only representative from Liberia, said through the opportunity from the Chinese government, youths from across Africa and China were able to learn from one another, build working-relations, and collaborate on innovative projects.

She said the Chinese government’s efforts did not go unnoticed, as attendees praised their commitment to promoting unity and cooperation among the youths of China and Africa.

“The festival served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration, showcasing the rich diversity and potential of both regions,” she explains.

According to her, the event brought together 150 participants and talented young individuals from China and Africa to foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

Milton details that during the opening of the festival, the Deputy Secretary for Youth League and Deputy Minister of Environment, Climate, and Wildlife from Zimbabwe, John Paradza, said, “this gathering stands as a testament to the enduring and ever-strengthening ties between our two countries; a relationship rooted on mutual benefit and respect, shared aspirations and collective progress.”

The youth empowered and inspired by initiatives like the Youth Festival will undoubtedly play a key role in shaping a shared future for our nations”, he added.

“As a youth leader, he noted,  “I highly regard this framework as it sets the tone in opening up avenues for economic growth with increased concentration on the manufacturing sector and realizing industrialization and economic diversification with agenda 2063 in mind.”

However, Milton explained that while in China, she and other participants were taken on tours of historical sites, including a visit to the former residence of Soong Ching Ling, the Great Wall, the China-Africa Friendship group of the CPPCC National Committee, Peking University, the Museum of the Communist Party of China, the Jinhua Provence, Leapmotor, and many others.

The 8th China-Africa Youth Festival opening ceremony was held on May 20, 2024, in Beijing, and related activities continued in Zhejiang province. It ended successfully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with the strong commitments of both young Chinese and young Africans to working together to build China-Africa modernization and a community with a shared future for mankind.
