Liberian star stresses patriotism

A United States based Liberian Queen, Mollyn Jarbo is challenging government and citizens here to show support for those who help to put their country on the map through their talents, albeit musicians, artists, footballers or other social activities.

Before becoming Miss UN 2016, Miss Jarbo says she previously won the Miss Liberia USA 2013/2014 and Miss Africa 2014/2015. She told the NewDawn that she came to Liberia to help coach other model stars who are preparing for pageantry competition, while at the same time stepping in to make donations to schools and providing scholarships to about 200 students here.

Miss. Jarbo spoke passionately about self-empowerment and wants to help others build self-confidence, teach them how to become self-empowered, and also support those interested in  trade school, among others.

She announced plans to launch her charity group here which is currently based in the US and has been making donations to schools.

She says she will be giving out a lot of scholarships, having earlier said she has been receiving support from US Marine every December to provide Christmas gifts to needed children here. She cited family members and friends as other donors to her charity organization through her contact via social media.

She has meanwhile expressed thanks and appreciation to the NewDawn authorities for giving their support in her endeavors.. The supermodel is expected to stay in the country for two weeks.
