Liberians must support Pres. Weah

Youth of Caldwell Township in Montserrado County are calling on Liberians to support President George Weah’s Pro Poor Agenda for the country.

The group, under the banner Association of Caldwell Youth says if the government will succeed, Liberians must support it.

It says the situation of Liberia cannot be solved by President Weah and his officials alone, but rather it requires collective efforts of all citizens in supporting the President’s pro-poor agenda.

It made the call over the weekend at the beginning of a one-day cleanup campaign in electoral district#15, Caldwell Township to give the community a facelift.

In an exclusive interview, youth leader Adolphus Toe says the initiative is in support of President Weah’s agenda, which calls for Liberians taking initiatives, not waiting for government.

He says the Mayor of the Monrovia City Corporation Jefferson Koijee calls on citizens across Liberia to join the cleaning up exercise in their various counties, communities, and districts, something he says will help to give the city a decent look.

“We thought it wise to undertake this initiative ourselves, because we all are aware of the message the mayor gave, it is against this backdrop that I contact my team to carry on this exercise”, Toe explains.

He says it is shameful to listen to Liberians coming from the United States of America, and other parts of the world raining praises on those countries about cleanliness, noting those success stories are achieved thru citizens’ involvement, not government alone.
