Liberians urged to embrace reconciliation, development

The grievance chair for the Salala Agriculture Workers Union or SAWU urges Liberians, mainly young people to focus on reconciliation and development in order to move the country forward.

Oldman Kollie says young people are in majority here and their inputs are very essential to building the nation. He spoke recently in Weala, Margibi County during groundbreaking for a multipurpose community services store attended by local authorities and citizens.

The project is the first of its kind in the area being constructed at the Methodist Junction adjacent Winners’ Chapel branch in the county. Mr. Kollie, who also served as campaign manager for the former ruling UP collaboration with the PUP during the 2017 elections, further stresses that young Liberians should engage in ventures that would enable them to invest in the country, adding that along government can’t do everything.

He reminds that Liberia is the only country Liberians have, and no other person could develop it better than Liberians themselves, while acknowledging that help from outside should equally not be underestimated in the process.

Meanwhile, some of those who graced the ground breaking ceremony, including Cinta Township Commissioner William Julye, former representative candidate Anthony Moses, Bong County Electoral District# 7 Rep. Joseph Papa Kolleh, Mr. Moses Darmo, CEO of MOABEL, clergymen and Liberians in general thanked Mr. Kollie for the initiative, concurring that it is good for Liberians to develop their own country. Some of them also called on young people in the area to emulate the good example of Mr. Kollie’s.
