LINGO celebrates 2nd annual fair

LINGO celebratesOver 100 Non-Governmental Organizationsin Liberia have celebrated the 2ndAnnual NGO Fair with the theme,“Strengthening partnership.”

The Chair of the Liberia International-Non-Governmental Organizations or LINGO coordinating committee here, Andrew Hoskin, said NGOs and CSOs have worked over the years towards supporting needs of Liberians through various program interventions.

Mr. Hoskin said after Tuesday’s fair he hopes to see local and international NGOs work together in a more meaningful way. He said plans are underway to move the fair from Monrovia to other counties so Liberians outside the capital can benefit from the exercise, adding that with the drawdown of UNMIL and the upcoming elections,LINGO will strengthen partnershipwith the Government.

LINGO and Civil Society have over the years been focal point for NGO information dissemination in Liberia and as well as facilitating and enhancing the work of over 60 International NGOs across the country.
The annual fair is intended to create an avenue where Civil Societies and non- governmental organizations will show what their work in Liberia.

The National Chairperson of the Civil Society Council of Liberia Frances Greaves said, the fair is a great way to help reinforce the long-standing partnership amongst CSOs, local and international NGOs in the country and also build strong solidarity than ever.
