LKF League: Watanga Sink Royal Sisters
The girls of Watanga, last Saturday evening dealt a 12 – 11 home runs defeat to Royal Sisters before hundreds of kickball fans at the multipurpose Airfield fish market Sports pitch in Sinkor.
Earlier, Royal Sisters took the lead in the first three quarters of the match, but Watanga made a magnificent come back in the fourth and fifth quarters to lead by one home run and subsequently leveled the score.
With level scores at the end of the usual five inanes, both teams had to play extra two inanes. Although the first extra inane ended 11 at peace, the last was the scene of a glorious win for Watanga as the team managed to secure a home run.
The match was in continuation of the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) national league currently taking place across Montserrado and Margibi counties.
Meanwhile, the LKF national league continued at the weekend with several exciting moments.
Earlier at the Airfield Sports pitch in Sinkor, Aries walloped SIRIUS 3 – 0 home runs, while Paynesville Giant Sisters buried United Sisters 5 – 0 home runs and Akwaba lost to CYE 2 – 3 home runs to set the stage for the Watanga girls and Royal Sisters show down.
In Harbel, Nassa Green Eaglets went down to Heart girls’ 8 – 15 home runs. The competition is expected to continue this weekend with more side talking and leg moving matches across the country.
