The Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia will come alive this weekend when two of Liberia’s finest traditional soccer rivals, Invincible Eleven (IE) and Mighty Barrolle meet in a friendly match. The match is part of series of activities lined up for the induction ceremony of IE’s new corps officers who were elected on February 27 this year.

Prior to the IE and Barrolle match a former players’ match will be played, to bring back the football spirit of the 70s and 80s. At the ATS, the new officials of the yellow boys who are to be inducted with a four year mandate will formally be introduced to the fans and supporters of the club.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the IE inaugural committee Kekura Kamara says all is now set for the much talk about inauguration of officers elect of the I E and Majestic Sports Association.

He said the program is scheduled for May 1,  2010 at the Monrovia City Hall. Speaking to Journalists recently in Monrovia, Kamara said the inaugural ceremony will be characterized by speeches, cultural performances, the launch of a $135,000 funds-raising and the constitution of a 55 man board of directors.

Kamara further explained that this entire week has been declared “yellow week” for all fans and supporters of the club. “We are calling on all fans and supporters of the club to wear at least some thing yellow throughout this week.” He added.

Also speaking to Journalists was the Vice President elect for Administration Francois Junius. For him, the $135,000 will be used to recruit players, to acquire an office space for IE, to get a bus for each of the teams, to reactivate the Basketball team, to recruit a Technical staff for each of the teams, as well to begin to pay the players of the various teams.

Junius disclosed that they have received lots and lots of congratulatory messages from fans and supporters both at home and abroad. “I E is going to operate on the basis of corporate sponsorship,” Junius concluded.
