Lofa County in Slow Start

Three major projects and the list of others earmarked in various districts to be dedicated during this year’s July 26 celebration in Lofa County, are in a slow start.

George Tengbeh, Administrative Assistant to Superintendent Kalakpai Kortimai, who boasts of visitors to this year’s Independent Day Celebration seeing the difference from the others, named the construction of a Presidential Palace, Sports Stadium and a Junior College as some of the projects.

Tengbeh hoped that this year’s celebration is been boasted with the development taking place in the county. But with less than 5-months left to the celebration only the construction of the Presidential Place has begun.

According to our correspondent who visited the sites of these projects, the projects are still at a standstill. He said because of the delay, some locals have started venting their angers or frustrations against the local officials. The people have accused the county’s projects committee, saying it lacks lack proper planning.
