Lone Star Cell MTN donates US$ 2,500 to orphanage

Liberia’s leading Telecommunication Company, Lone Star Cell MTN, has donated US$ 2,500 as its contribution to the Great Commission Orphanage home in Chicken Soup Factory community, Garnerville along the Somalia Drive.


The company in a press release issued here Tuesday, 18 July says it is in partnership with staff of the South African Embassy near Monrovia that launched an initiative to electrify the Great Commission Orphanage.The release continues that the contribution was made at program marking the observance of Nelson Mendela International Day held at the Great Commission School.

Foundation Manager, Mrs. Miattah Walker-Pearson, says the company was delighted to be part of a project that will help change the living condition of orphans at the facility. She explains that the Solar Project will further enhance learning, and admonished the management of the orphanage to properly utilize the electricity to benefit the kids.

Mrs. Walker-Pearson specifically stresses that the contribution was part of Lone Star Cell MTN’s Social Corporate Responsibility to communities in which the company operates.
It may be recalled that recently, Lone Star Cell MTN through its 21 Days of Y’ello Care Program, rehabilitated six schools in Monrovia and one school in every county where the company has a Service Center.

Meanwhile, the South African Ambassador accredited to Liberia, Mr. V. P. Moodley says the Solar Project is a self-initiative being undertaken by staff of the Embassy and its partner Lonestar Cell MTN. Ambassador Moodley commends his staff and the GSM company for such remarkable and selfless endeavor, and pledges his staff commitment in helping to further transform the living condition of kids at the orphanage.

For her part, the Mother of the Great Commission Orphanage, madam Nellie Mulbah, lauds onestar Cell MTN and staff of the South African Embassy for being thoughtful about the kids. She notes that the Solar Project is a sigh of relief for all at the orphanage.
