Lone Star Cell MTN To Light Up ATS

Six selected senior high schools will participate this weekend in a one-day mock World Cup tourney at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium or ATS in Monrovia.

The participating Schools are the Monkeys of Monrovia Collage, the Alligators of AME Zion and the Foxes of the Collage of West Africa.  Others are Jimmy Jollocon, R.C. Lawson and D-Tweh memorial high schools.

The tournament is organized and sponsored by Lone star Cell MTN, the official sponsor of the FIFA 2010 World cup scheduled for June this year in South Africa. It is in observance of the fifty day count down for the 2010 World cup which began since last Wednesday.

In an exclusive interview with New Dawn Sports recently in Monrovia, Lone Star Cell MTN Marketing Officer, Lorenzo Harmon said the six high schools have been selected to represent the six African nations, who have already qualified to feature in the world’s biggest Football fiesta.

According to him, the one day Soccer jamboree is gear towards soliciting adequate support for the Six African countries to feature in the world cup.

“This is Lone Star Cell MTN’s own way of contributing to the growth and development of the game of Football in the Country,” Harmon explained.

He also said that at the end of the Soccer show down, the winner will be walk away with a giant size trophy and a cash prize, while the other participants will receive cash prizes for participation.
