If everything goes well, the National Football Team, Lone Star, would be in Nigeria for a West African Tournament, organized by the West African Football Union (WAFU).

This paper has received credible information that the West African Football governing body is anticipating the participation of Liberia in the all-West African Football tournament, which is expected to kickoff on February 26   in Nigeria.

Liberia’s participation is a result of an invitation extended through the Liberia Football Association (LFA). The ream is currently disorganized, and efforts are underway for its reorganization.

According to LFA Assistant Secretary General for Technical Affairs, Benedict Yarsiah, the LFA would await response from the Ministry of Youth and Sports following the submission of the invitation for its perusal for the possibility of honoring the invitation.

Liberia will be responsible to pay a non -refundable registration fee of Five Hundred United States Dollars (US$ 500.00) and under write travel expenses of the national team to the venue of the tournament, while accommodation , local transportation other necessities during the course of the tournament will be provided by the organizers.

When contacted, LFA’s Secretary General, Sam Bedford, acknowledged receipt of the invitation communication from WAFU, but refused to comment further, saying that he had just received this document from the West African Football Union and needed some time to analyze and discuss it with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He did not disclose the names of the other participating countries.
