Lone Star Prepares For Sierra Leone

The national Under 20 soccer team of Liberia other wise known as Liberia football Olympic team has begun an intensive preparation for her London 2012 debut qualifier against neighboring Sierra Leone.

At least 20 players including midfielders, defenders, goal keepers and strikers are part of an intensive training which commenced on September 20, 2010′

Speaking to the New Dawn Sports shortly after one of the team’s training session yesterday, Coach Bertalan Bicskei thanked midfielders of the team for the massive improvement hey have made so far.

Though there were some lapses in the midfield of the under 20 national squad during the three nations Independence-day tournament held in Monrovia, Coach Bicskei sees a transformation in his boys for a great result in Free Town, Sierra Leone comes October 10 this year.

The 66 years old football tactician believes in the performances of the under 20 side, especially the ones he has made. The Lone Star of Liberia faces the Leone Star of Sierra Leone to begin her qualifier campaign for the London 2012 Olympic. The selected players are to be led by Coach Frank Jericho Nagbe and former Lone Star Defense Minister; Joe Armstrong Nagbe.

Following the end of preliminary practice sessions this week, the boys are expected to move to camp for final preparations and subsequently travel to Sierra Leone.
