Lone Star Ready For Uganda

The Lone Star of Liberia is set to host their counterpart of Uganda this Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville outside Monrovia in a first leg world cup qualifier.

The national team has been in camp for the past one week in order to give thousands of soccer-crazy home fans their first victory under interim coach Frank Jericho Nagbe.  Lone Star squad, which includes 12 professionals and 25 local based players are up to the task to take Liberia to the 2014 world cup in Brazil.

Out of the 12 foreign-based players, seven have already arrived in the country, including Anthony Laffor, Solomon Grimes, Francis Grand Pa Doe, Theo Weeks, Wleh Abel Greebor, and Sekou Jabateh Oliseh, among others.

Meanwhile, the Ugandans are expected in the country today, and one of their strikers, who played for Azam FC against BYC2 in Monrovia recently, is already in the capital, awaiting his colleagues for Sunday’s match.
