Lone Star U-23 v Yemen

The national U-23 side of Liberia will settle things with Yemen national football team later today in a match that is serving as a preparation session for Liberia ahead of their home leg against Sierra Leone.

Liberia drew 1-1 away to the Leone Star U-23 side in Freetown last month. The Lone star delegation includes some of the best local players.

Defenders Bill Paytoe and Teah Dennis are expected to start in center defense. Both defenders appeared to understand each other. Both men played together last season during their title campaign with LPRC Oilers FC.

Another possible starter for Lone Star is striker Samuel Johnson, the striker is regarded as Liberia’s top local striker among his colleagues, with his kicking ability displayed at SKD during the trio national tournament and in Freetown last month. There is no doubt that Johnson’s slot in the starting 11 will be questioned.

Fans across the country are saying such test match will build the international experience of local players and provide chances for scout to select them for foreign contracts.

One of LISCR latest signings, James Koko Lomell is one of Bisckei hope for today game, the midfielder last played in the Indonesian league for PSM Medan few season ago but was dropped from the club due to transfer Certificate.

He signed with Aziz Kara FC in South Africa for three seasons but was unable to maintain his contract as a result of a lucrative offer from Asia.

But the Asian side felt victim of the contract when they received a discontinuation mail from the South African club claiming that Lomell was still a property of the club. Local defensive midfielder Michael Jaesue will be hoping to continue his perfect action he displayed against BYC last Saturday for LISCR FC.
