The lab is aimed at helping students do research via the internet, including assignments while on campus. When it is fully setup, Lonestar Cell MTN will provide free internet service and train instructors how to operate the equipment on campus.

Speaking during the donation ceremony, Lonestar Cell MTN Corporate Affair Executive, Dr. Laurence Bropleh praised the Paynesville Community School for being one of the best public schools in Liberia.

He said the standard of instruction and the foundation the school has laid, makes LoneStar Cell proud to introduce digital education that will afford students an opportunity to access the internet and do search work.

He clarified that the facility is not a computer laboratory to teach students how to operate computers, instead, “The lab is an ICT lab that will help students know more about the internet and how to do research when they (students) are given assignments, never mind, we will train your teachers how to operate this lab and provide free internet service,” Dr. Bropleh noted.

He encouraged students to be focus and take their lessons seriously, noting, “The future of any successful nation rests on the shoulders of the young people.”

Receiving the computers and generator,  the Principal of the PCS, Madam Thelma W. Mehn, described the Lonestar Cell MTN as the number one GSM Company in Liberia.

“Lonestar Cell is number one company in this country, who like it or not, Lonestar Cell is number one, we at the PCS have our reason for saying that this GSM is the best; this company has always been there for students and schools; they always want to see students grow in their lesson that’s why they are number one,” she told an audience of students attending the ceremony.

She also thanked the MTN family for the donation, recalling that last school year, the company also donated chairs for students to sit on. “This company has always been good to us; last year before the opening of school, they donated chairs, and here they are today again giving us ICT lab equipment, we are very happy”, she concluded.

The ICT lab is expected to be painted and fully air-cool by the Lonestar Cell MTN.
