Lonestar Cell MTN has launched Y’ello Scholars, its Internship and Graduate Trainee program. Y’ello Scholars, according to the company, will provide opportunities for talented students and recent graduates to develop into well-equipped, job-ready individuals by giving them the chance to be trained by experts and kick-start their careers at Liberia’s leading telecommunications network.
The Y’ello Scholars Internship Program will offer three-month internship positions for sophomore and junior students. Graduating senior students and recent graduates will benefit from the Y’ello Scholars Graduate Trainee Program, which offers 12-18-month training positions.
Y’ello Scholars will run in partnership with major universities in Liberia. Candidates will be mentored and coached while they gain hands-on work experience in a corporate environment.

The company said eligible scholar s must first be enrolled in a university (sophomore or junior year for the Internship program); or graduating senior or a recent graduate (no more than a year since graduating) for the Graduate Trainee program. The applicants must be 18 to 25 years at the time of submitting their application, computer literate, a Liberian citizen and must have cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above;
Those eligible, the company said can apply by sending a cover letter; their CV/resume; a two-minute video stating their motivation for the program; a copy of current control sheet and grade sheet for the previous semester; and, for the Graduate Trainee Program only, a copy of their degree or graduation clearance to yelloscholars.lr@mtn.com.
