Lonestar Cell MTN says it is proud to be associated with the Liberia Football Association in organizing the 2013/2014 National County Meet.
The County Meet is an annual sporting festival organized and hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at enhancing national reconciliation, unity and development amongst Liberians through sports.
Lonestar Cell MTN, one of the key sponsors of the games, expressed satisfaction in the level of patriotism being demonstrated by Liberians by coming out to support their respective counties. A senior staff of Lonestar Cell MTN, Moima Briggs Mensah, noted that Liberians indeed understand the true meaning of peace, especially through sports.
Madam Mensah said Lonestar Cell MTN is always willing to support the peace of Liberia by every means possible. “We at Lonestar Cell MTN believe that everyone globally and mainly in Liberia deserves to be happy with the celebration of 10 years of peace; we are also happy to be associated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the organizing of the National County Meet.”
“Our doors are always open for contributions in everything that will help to improve the lives of the Liberian people and our CEO Tebogo Mogape is always willing to see the Lonestar Cell MTN contributing to education, development and sports in Liberia,” Moima noted.
Speaking here Friday 10 January when staffs of both the GSM Company and the Sports Ministry launched a trophy tour through the streets of Monrovia, Moima hoped that the county meet will meet the goal of Lonestar Cell MTN to unite Liberians from all works of live.
The trophies on showcase included the giant OVERALL CHAMPION of the County Meet as well as the Champion for individual sports disciplines i.e. Football, Kickball, Volleyball, Basketball and Athletics.
Also all flags of the fifteen (15) counties participating in the National County Sports Meet flew on the main pilot truck for the Trophy Tour as part of the Ministry’s strategy to mobilize support for the games, especially from the crucial quarter-finals stage right through to the finals.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Danesius Seigbe, welcomed the sponsorship from Lonestar Cell MTN and all other sponsors of the tournament. He said material and financial support of the sponsors is very helpful to the ministry because according to him, it has small budgetary support to cover all expenses for the annual event.
