LRA honors loyal taxpayers today

The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) is today, Friday, 27July hosting its second Taxpayers Appreciation Day program in Monrovia. The event recognizes all loyal taxpayers, but honors those who have been more tax compliant and made significant contributions to the revenue envelope.
According to the LRA, the event is being held with support from the USAID-RG3 Project, which is supporting domestic resource mobilization in Liberia, and will recognize taxpayers’ for the 2016/17 fiscal period.
Thirty-nine (39) individuals, businesses and corporations will receive awards in categories of Most Compliant, Highest Contributors, Large Tax, Medium Tax, Small Tax, Petty Trader, Real Property, and highest taxpayers per counties, respectively.
President George Manneh Weah is expected to present the Gold and Silver awards to two highest tax contributors and most compliant taxpayer nationwide at the event, which takes place at the Monrovia City Hall today, beginning 5:00 pm.
The program, which will be held under the theme “Increase Voluntary Compliance to Increase Self-Reliance”, will appreciate all taxpayers in and out of Liberia for meeting up with their tax obligations.
In its median edition in 2017, the LRA awarded 33 taxpayers in several categories, some of which are expected to repeat the feat this year, based on their continuous tax compliance and contributions to national development.
LRA Officer-in-Charge and Acting Commissioner General Decontee T. King-Sackie, encourages all citizens and residents in the country to become compliant taxpayers, a cardinal step towards achieving the President’s Pro Poor Agenda through revenue collection for national development. Press Release
