LRA to cement partnership with regional tax institute

LRA Commissioner General Thomas Doe Nah and WAUTI President Mrs. Dame Gladys Olajumoke. A high-power delegation from the West African Union Tax Institute, WAUTI, has begun talks with the Liberia Revenue Authority, LRA, for the extension of the institution’s services to Liberia.

According to a press release, the essence of the visit is to break grounds for the strengthening of partnership leading to the establishment of a WAUTI branch and its activities here.

The partnership is expected to enhance knowledge of potential tax administrators across the country, including LRA employees.The four men delegation was headed by the WAUTI President, Mrs. Dame Gladys Olajumoke.

During a meeting, the LRA Commissioner General Thomas Doe Nah and WAUTI President Mrs. Dame Gladys Olajumoke, had discussions focused on the opening of a branch in Liberia and Liberia’s inclusion into WAUTI.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that LRA would engage relevant government institutions to bring to bear the requisite legislations for the establishment of West African Union Tax Institute, WAUTI in Liberia.

When established, WAUTI will be first institution in Liberia to train certified tax practitioners in Liberia. Press Release
