The firestone Golf Course in Margibi County is expected to come alive this weekend with ten professionals and twenty five amateur golfers in a major competition.
The golf tournament is named and styled the Pro-Am Holiday Golf tournament sponsored by the RMA Liberia) Ltd. According to the Director of RMA (Ltd) Paul Johnson, the professional and amateur golfers are from sea view Golf Course in Virginia, Monrovia and the Firestone Golf Course in Margibi County. Trophies, prizes and a special grand prize of a new car will be at stake.
The first Winner will receive (US$1,500) One Thousand Five Hundred United States Dollars, 2nd ($1,000USD) One Thousand United States Dollars, 3RD Place ($700) Seven Hundred United States Dollars, while 4th spot will be out for ($500)Five Hundred United States Dollars and the 5th and 6th, Three and Four Hundred United States Dollars each.
The first three winners in the amateur division will receive trophies and consolation prizes, while the first player who will tee-off (Stroke) straightly in a hole, will get a brand new ‘Cherry Tiggo Vehicle” value at about Twenty-three thousand United States Dollars, according to Johnson.
The tournament will be an annual event and prizes would be increased during the next edition. Meanwhile, the event planner Barkue Tubman of Miss Entertainment International has said that the tournament will tee-off at 7:30 am for the professional, while the amateur will start by 9:00am.
At the end of the 1st annual Pro-Am Golf tournament in Firestone this weekend, winners will receive their awards and prizes at a ceremony to be held at Monrovia City Hall at 5pm on Saturday.
