Voinjama police have arrested a 38 year-old man for alleged murder. Mulbah Kpedeh was arrested on May 29, in Kolliemai town by the police for stabbing 38 year-old Gizziyan Gayflor.
According to police charge sheet, Kpedeh who is a resident of Gizzie-ta left for Kolliemai town where he had gone to purchase cigarettes.
Upon arrival at a shop in Kolliemai town, he met Gizziyan Gayflor who pleaded with him to buy a bottle of local gin (cane juice) for him, but he (Kpedeh) told the deceased he had no money.
The latter claimed that Mulbah was ungrateful and began raining further insults at him. The charge sheet further explained that the both men went into an argument for a while following which Mulbah Kpedeh used a kitchen knife to stabbed Gizziyan Gayflor on his abdomen.
Kpedeh is quoted as telling the police that he was first hit on his head with a cutlass by Gayflor, but police said the accusation made by Kpedeh was far from the true.
Following the incidence, Gizziyan Gayflor was rushed to the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead on May 30. However, Mulbah Kpedeh is in custody pending court trial.
