Man, 38, Commits Suicide In Nimba

Report from Nimba County says a 38year-old man has been found dead in Gbablin Town in District Number 8, Nimba County. Preston Nya Saye was, on July 19, discovered dead in front of his house in Gbablin Town on the Ganta-Saclepea High Way.

The widow of the deceased – Oretha Wapoe, told our Nimba County Correspondent that she and her late husband – Preston Nya Saye, were living together in peace, denying rumors of having extra-marital affairs – something attributed to the cause of the suicide committed by her husband.

According to Oretha, prior to the death of Nyan, they all had a nice time together during the night before the accident. Our correspondent, who visited Gbablin Town, said the details of the cause of the man’s death are yet to be disclosed, but other accounts revealed that he may have drank an acid formula out of jealousy.

The late Preston Nya Saye was the father of two children and a resident of District Number 8 in Nimba, but left his town along with his fiancé – Oretha, to cater to his sick mother in Gbablin Town in the same district.

Our Correspondent was also informed that before the incident, Preston Nya Saye locked the front and back doors of their house, following which he drank the acid water before coming out of the house.

He was later rushed to the Karnwee clinic near Saclepea, but later returned home after health worker at the clinic referred him to the Ganta United Methodist Hospital. The death of the 38year old brings to two the number of suicide deaths in the same community in less than a year.

A 25-year old man -Nyan paye, committed suicide in his room in the same town sometime this year.
