Man, 50, charged with rape

Police in Toe Town, Grand Gedeh County have sent to court a 50 years oldman, Big Daddy Jah, for allegedly raping a 37-year-old woman.

According to the Police charge sheet, Big Daddy on December 30,  2014, invited the victim to an entertainment center along  with some of his friends, and drugged drinks and gave it to her before subsequently leading her to where the crime was committed.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim said though she was drunk, she tried to resist, but was powerless in the process, thus the perpetrator took advantage of her state of mind and forcibly penetrated her anus with his penis.

However, Big Daddy pleaded not guilty, and told the court that he came in contact with the victim and rescued her from two individuals, who intended to rape her.

The defendant explained that after entertaining the victim, she was on her way home when the incident occurred.

“I noticed some strange movements, so I decided to help by driving away some men but only to note that they raped her that particular night”, Big Daddy told the Court.

But according to him, he did not recognize anybody by name during the night of the incident or those that were present at the entertainment center.

Medical report reviewed by our Grand Gedeh County correspondent, confirmed there was anus sex which pull the victim’s anus out, resulting to serious medical complications.

The case has spent more than a week at the Toe Town Magistrate Court since the Police officially submitted it.

Presiding Judge Jerry Teah, told the public that all has been done to give the both parties a fair trial. Though the case is beyond his jurisdiction, the court has to carry on a preliminary investigation before sending it to the next court that has the jurisdiction.

The victim is reported to have suffered cuts from her private parts and over her body.

Latest report reaching The NewDawn as of press time, says a compromise has taken place between the two parties with the alleged consent of the court.
