Man arrested with 50 bullets faints
Police in Ganta, Nimba County have arrested a 45-year-oldman for possessing 50 AK-47 rounds in Gbolyee Town, outside Ganta City, according to the Ganta Magisterial Court.Suspect Roosevelt Perry, had on several occasions, threatened to kill his wife, but the woman took him to court.
The Magisterial Court advised Roosevelt Perry not to go around his wife, but he reportedly went there during night hours and allegedly destroyed several items in the house.The court then ordered the Police to conduct a search of the house during which the 50 AK-47 rounds were discovered.
However, police call on the public not to panic as the bullets are to be no longer useful.Suspect Perry is a technician, who repairs electronic gadgets, including radio sets in the main street of Ganta, but his wife no longer shows him love.
Several items used by UNMIL, while the Mission served in Ganta were found in the room of Suspect Perry during the search.While Perry was being taken to Police custody, he fainted and was rushed to the Esther and Jereline Koung Medical Center in Ganta where he is receiving medical treatment.
Nimba County is the birthplace of the 1989 rebel invasion of Liberia led by the National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) rebels under the command of jailed former President Charles Taylor.
