The Slipway Depot of the Liberia National Police (LNP) is in desperate hunt of a man who allegedly cut off one of the fingers of his colleague’s during a fistfight on Water Street in Monrovia.The incident occurred at public toilet newly constructed by Montserrado County District #7 Representative Solomon George during a fight over bucket.
Miata Duncan, an eyewitness explains the fistfight came about after the suspect borrowed a bucket from the victim to use it, but refused to return it.She notes that victim Samuel Lewis, who owns the bucket decided to ask his colleague James Coleman for the bucket, and in the process, the suspect rains invectives on the victim, leading to the fight.
She continues that during the fight, Suspect Coleman took hold of his colleague’s small finger, placed it in his mouth, biting it off completely, leaving the victim bleeding profusely from the wound.She says after the incident, Suspect Coleman fled the scene when Victim Lewis alarmed that his finger was chopped off by the runaway suspect.
She notes the suspect had on many occasions threatened to fight the victim, but the latter always avoided him until Sunday, 30 September when the fight arose between them.When the Slipway Police Depot was contacted on the matter, a senior officer, who begged for anonymity, confirmed the incident and disclosed the police were in desperate search of Suspect Coleman to face prosecution.
Meanwhile, Victim Lewis was taken to the West Point Clinic in West Point Township where he was treated for his wound by nurses and later discharged.
