Man bursts girlfriend’s eye

A love affair between an unmarried couple turns bitter when the boyfriend punches his fiancée in her face, leaving her right eye damaged in Sayon Town community, Bushrod Island outside Monrovia.

Eyewitnesses, who identify the couple as Jackson Blayee and Patience Doe Williams, narrate that the incident transpired when Blayee caught Patience in the community smoking marijuana in public along with some friends and immediately punched her right eye, causing her eyeball to completely gush out.

Ms. Winifred Peters, who claims that she was on the scene of the assault notes that Blayee had repeatedly warned Patience not to smoke marijuana (grass) in public, but she refuses to heed his advice.

She says as a direct result of the situation, the victim profusely bleeds blood from the damaged eyeball whenever she cries, adding that she was later taken to hospital where specialized eyes doctors performed surgery, but the victim is yet to see with the affected eyeball.

According to report, as though the assault was not enough, Blayee on 13 June again attempted beating on Patience but was prevented by neighbors.
Patience is reportedly wearing dark shade since doctors removed the plaster from her damaged eyeball to prevent dust from entering into the eye.

When this reporter contacted the victim at the residence of a friend in Sayon Town, she laments that she does not sleep at night due to severe pain in the affected eyeball.
For his part, suspect Blayee confirms the assault and explains that he is not against the victim smoking marijuana but not in public, which she allegedly refuses heed thereby, prompting his action against her.

Since the incident, the victim has refused to inform her parents or the Liberia National Police (LNP) to allow the law to take its course. Instead, she continues to smoke the substance despite her current fate. By Emmanuel Mondaye–Editing by Jonathan Browne
