Man found dead on Taylor’s farm

A man believed to be in his early thirties has been found dead on the abandoned farm of former President Charles Taylor near Gbarnga, Bong County. The man was found dead last week on the farm, which had been scheduled for revitalization.

Speaking to our Bong County correspondent on the scene of the incident, Amelia Kollie- a relative of the deceased, said he was found in an irrigation pipe used by the farm. She explained further that the dead man identified as Oldman Kollie, along with his blind uncle took off for the farm during the evening hours of Wednesday for a bath when he reportedly slipped in the pit.

Also speaking to our correspondent, a resident of the Melekie Community where the farm is located, Ben Cooper said they usually use the pit to wash and bath; but they were surprised that someone could drown in it, adding it has never taken place before.

Our correspondent who was also on the scene, could not confirm the extraction of any body parts of the late Oldman. Meanwhile, security personnel in Gbarnga have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Oldman Kollie.
