Man mobbed to death in Bong

Report from Bong Mines says a 39-year old man identified as Konah Jallah has been mobbed to death by angry residents for allegedly beating on his uncle in the area.
According to our Bong County correspondent, the incident took place on Thursday, 15 November in Mawah Town, Fuamah District, lower Bong County.

Our correspondent says the late Konah Jallah allegedly beat on his uncle and was later taken to court.Following preliminary investigations into the incident, victim Jallah was immediately asked by local authorities of the area to pay the amount of $1,000 Liberian Dollars for disgracing his uncle.

After the preliminary investigations by authorities of Mawah Town, some unidentified guys headed by one Moses asked Konah Jallah to accompany them to a nearby creek.

The group allegedly tortured Konah for several hours at the creek and upon returning the alleged torture site, he was pronounced dead by medical doctors at the Bong Mines Hospital.

According to our correspondent, at least six persons were allegedly linked to the killing of Konah Jallah and subsequently arrested by officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP), awaiting Court trial.

According to reports, family members of the late Konah Jallah have expressed sorrow over the death of their relative.The family members are calling on the police to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Konah’s corpse has been turned over to the family members for burial.The situation has brought total fear among residents of Mawah Town, many of whom are grieving over the death of Jallah.

Some of the eyewitnesses who knew the victim told our correspondent that he was a very potential man and was always willing to learn and help others.Some of the citizens are disenchanted over the death of the late Jallah and they are also wondering as to who will take care of the late Jallah’s nine children in the town.
