Police in Karnplay, Nimba County have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man for allegedly setting one of the county’s yellow machines ablaze in Gba-vonwee Town, District# 4.
According to police charge sheet, suspect Randolf Free, allegedly torched the machine recently after being informed by his mother that the equipment destroyed his house in the town, which caused him to travel from Monrovia to Nimba to carry out the arson.
Randolf told our Nimba correspondent that he was fooled by the devil in committing the crime.
Speaking to this paper in Nimba, District# 4 Representative Garrison Yealu, told citizens of the town that as they all wait for development in their area, no one should stand against development.
Some of the citizens said they have suffered for over 60 years without having access to road network.
According to them, the construction of roads in the district would enable them to transport their produce to the market.
Nimba County has acquired 22 pieces of road equipment through its development fund.
The machines have brought great relief to the county as feeder roads are being paved to connect villages for easy access.
