Margibians meet for 2017

Rep. Ballah Zazay NDCitizens of Margibi County, including incumbent and former leaders of the county have ended a one-day interactive forum aimed at discussing the future leadership of Margibi.  The forum was held recently at the administrative building in Kakata, Margibi County under the banner “Margibi United for 2017.”

Current and past lawmakers of Margibi County, elders, chiefs and ordinary Margibians, amongst others were in attendance. The participants discussed, among others, a way forward for the county in terms of the Presidency in 2017.

According to them, Margibi being one of the most populated counties in Liberia, has immensely supported past Liberian Presidents, who did not seek their interest. Some of the speakers noted that there is no citizen from the county in President Sirleaf’s cabinet despite the fact that she received huge support from the people of Margibi in the last elections.

They recommended that the forum be extended to all five electoral districts in the county with Margibi District#2 Representative Ballah Zayzay, suggesting the next forum goes to his district.

The chief architect of the “Margibi United for 2017” Representative Emmanuel Nuquay of District#5 said the objective is not about him and other leaders as some may have perceived, but the county how ways and means could be devised to create opportunities for the people.
