Kakata, Liberia, May 2, 2024—While officially acquainted with local leaders of Margibi County from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Margibi’s first female Superintendent, Attorney Victoria Worlobah Duncan, has lamented that the county needs serious attention.

She made the statement on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at her office, speaking to reporters immediately after touring the building and inspecting various departments.

Superintendent Duncan, who previously served as Assistant Superintendent for Development, said her leadership has much to look at in the county because every area needs attention.

She specifically points out the health, education, and outlook of Kakata, the capital of Margibi, as areas that require immediate attention under her leadership.

The former Magistrate lauds the Liberian Senate, especially Senators James Emmanuel Nuquay and Nathaniel Falo McGill of the county, who, she notes, are making serious pushes in the Senate about C. H. Rennie Hospital, the county’s only referral hospital.

She describes the process as a dream come true because she has been worried about the hospital.

According to the superintendent, the human resource capacity of young people in the county needs to be built while expressing frustrations over the condition of roads in Kakata.

Every area, every aspect you think about in this county needs some attention”, she adds.

Commenting on other issues in the county, Attorney Duncan clarifies that she has not come to the job with a preconceived mind. She notes that qualified and ready people are needed for the job, so those not up to the task will have some problems with her.

She also clarifies that her recent meeting in the United States was not about fixing her background but about discussing Margibi’s forward match.

Meanwhile, the people of Margibi have traditionally welcomed and gowned Attorney Duncan as Superintendent of the county.

Earlier, she has called on women of Margibi to be united, instead of allowing people to disunite them.
