MARUSU protests bus usage

The Margibi University Student Union or MARUSU is calling on Margibi County District #3 Representative Stephen S. Kafi, Jr. to remove the names of students from a bus that was donated to the student community of Margibi by his office.

The President of MARUSU Patrick Kollie told the NewDawn Margibi correspondent recently in Kakata, that the bus is not being used for its intended purpose, thus, causing him to come under several attacks from his colleagues. He narrated that the bus can now be seen transporting potato greens and cassava leaves for marketers as well as taken to funeral services and birthday parties, adding that anyone who has money can rent the bus.

Patrick said as a result of what was being observed about the bus, he has resigned from a committee that was set to manage the bus with the hope that the situation would have improved but surprisingly it is being used for the personal benefit of Rep. Stephen S. Kafi, Jr.

He also said there was an agreement reached between MARUSU and Representative Stephen S. Kafi, to use the bus to transport students to and from school at certain time and an account to have also been opened for the bus management but none is working.

According to him, he has written the Margibi District three Lawmaker to remove the inscription:  Donated by Hon. Stephen S. Kafi, Jr. to the Margibi University Students.  Representative Kafi has declined to comment on the matter, saying it has no relevance, and that the President of MARUSU Patrick Kollie is not the right person to manage the bus.
